At Junket, we’re on record as being in support of a legislated implementation of a livable wage. To be clear: we’re not able to pay our entire team $15 yet (and the idea of doing so gives us a little bit of sticker shock), but we’re making progress, we believe that setting the intention is powerful, and we recognize that the ballot amendment includes some degree of phase-in for all businesses (as in, this isn’t going to be a switch flipped overnight).

As a business owner, I have the ability -and the obligation – to adapt to changing market conditions. If I can’t run a profitable business without doing so at the expense of my employees’ wellbeing, perhaps I shouldn’t be running that business.
