Teach at Junket

Thanks for your interest in sharing what you know with our community! We’re eager to learn more about your proposal.

Here are a few pointers for submitting a successful proposal:

  • Application and class samples should be sent a minimum of 6 weeks prior to the proposed date for your class (so all involved have adequate time to promote your class!).
  • At Junket, we’re all about facilitating community and creativity through reuse. Any class we offer should fit this framework. For art and other making or demo classes, this means that materials must be secondhand sourced (this is not particularly difficult – but it does require intentional acquisition; we can help). For other types of classes, there should be an intentional focus on reuse, repurposing/upcycling, repair, mindful consumption, environmentally ethical self-sufficiency, environmentally ethical self care, and/or environmental impact. Whew!
  • Also: have fun with the application — It’s our goal to have class descriptions/promos emerge from the content you share in your application, and it’s totally okay to allow your personality to come through (in fact, it’s a bonus). 🙂

Apply To Teach At Junket

  • Before you invest more time in this application, we'd love to confirm that this class will fit into Junket's creativity + community + reuse framework. Please tell us how you will incorporate reuse, repurposing/upcycling, repair, mindful consumption, environmentally ethical self-sufficiency, environmentally ethical self care, and/or environmental impact into your course(s). Thanks in advance!
  • While many of the classes at Junket are hands-on creative endeavors, we're all about learning and connecting, and people do these things in all sorts of ways. What experience do you seek to facilitate?
  • Please provide a detailed class description. What will people learn? How will they be differently equipped/informed/supplied when they leave? Please include any information about how this class fits into Junket's creativity + community + reuse framework (reuse, repurposing/upcycling, repair, mindful consumption, environmentally ethical self-sufficiency, environmentally ethical self care, and/or environmental impact).
  • How many people can you effectively facilitate in this class? And, what would you propose as a ticket price for your session? Note: we're open to hosting some events at no charge. In cases where we agree that free is the best option, all involved would participate on a volunteer basis (we'd contribute promotional time, you'd contribute facilitation time). If you're interested in volunteering your time for this class, this is the place to raise your hand. 🙂
  • We've learned that it takes at least six weeks to successfully market and fill a class. If you have a specific date in mind, please share your preference here. Are your dates flexible? Does your proposal involve a multi-session class? Free any Tuesday in November? Tell us what you're thinking and we'll work with it.
  • Please provide a description of your teaching experience, life experience, artistic medium(s), classes taken, credentials, expertise gathered, and/or any other information that would help us understand why you would be an effective facilitator of the content you're proposing to teach.
  • This is a collaborative effort - successful events and classes happen because all involved engage to drive interest and attendance. What channels do you have set up for communicating with your audience, and how will you use them to generate interest in your class?
  • If you have sample material to offer, please upload it here. If you do not have sample materials, please use this upload tool to submit a framework for your course. We will treat your content as proprietary (it belongs to you!).

  • These forms can be so tedious! And, we suspect you're a creative type, so we'd hate to constrain you. Have you been dying (just *dying*) to share information that we haven't asked you to submit? Welp, this is your chance. Have fun, don't scare us, and we'll see you on the other side of this application. 🙂
