Vintage brass-tone adjustable ring featuring a wonderfully detailed raised bulldog portrait, “DEVIL DOGS” lettering, an initial N above the bulldog, and dramatic wing motifs extending along both shoulders.
This unusual promotional ring dates to the 1935 Warner Bros. film Devil Dogs of the Air, starring James Cagney, and was distributed as a Quaker cereals promotional premium. The N represents the original personalized initial.
Ring face measures approximately ⅞" × ⅞", with an overall width of approximately 1⅛" across the winged shoulders. Open overlapping band is adjustable and currently measures approximately US size 7. Weighs approximately 0.20 oz.
Unmarked brass-tone metal; exact metal composition has not been tested. Good vintage condition with substantial age-appropriate surface wear and patina, scattered dark oxidation, and small areas of green verdigris. Raised bulldog, lettering, initial and wing details remain crisp and clearly defined. Please review photos for condition and construction.
